What cookies and similar technologies do
Cookies, local storage and similar technologies can remember sign-in sessions, maintain security, store preferences, support payments, measure traffic or enable embedded media.
Categories
Strictly necessary: authentication/session, security, checkout and essential site operation. These may not require consent where the legal exemption applies.
Essential technologies used on this site: sign-in session details kept in your browser’s local storage by our account provider (until you sign out); your cookie choice (dt-cookie-consent, local storage, kept until you change it); a saved sign-up journey (dt-journey-intent, local storage, up to 14 days); an unfinished Ski Profile draft (local storage, removed when you finish); and, during checkout, cookies set by our payment provider Stripe for security and fraud prevention.
Preferences: if you choose a language from the language button, a googtrans cookie remembers it for up to 12 months. It is only set when you make that choice.
Optional analytics: none are currently used on this site.
Optional embedded media: some pages show videos hosted on YouTube (Google). These only load after you allow embedded videos, and are served from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode; YouTube may then set its own cookies and storage under its own policy. No marketing or advertising trackers are used.
Your choices
Where consent is required, optional technologies will not be activated before your choice. You can change your choices at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Third parties and updates
Third-party embedded video or social-media services may set their own technologies when enabled. Browser settings alone are not a substitute for a consent mechanism where one is legally required.
